R+D+I

At INPRE COMPOSITES, we develop new markets and sectors through R, creating new products with high added value, using new, more sustainable materials, and developing more optimized processes that reduce costs during the product lifecycle. We focus on the recyclability of new products as well as the utilization of existing ones, developing technologies and applications that allow waste material to return to the production cycle.

Our lines of work are

Sustainability

Our goal is to use more sustainable technology to protect the environment, focusing on the recyclability of new products as well as the utilization of existing ones.

Development and implementation of new materials and processes

Leveraging new materials available on the market, adapting them to the needs of different sectors, and developing more optimized processes that reduce costs during the product lifecycle.

Digitalization of the industrial process

We are joining the digital transformation, adopting new technologies that allow us to have improved data and apply new technological solutions to improve our business model.

CICLO

Cooperation and research for circularity in the wind industry

The fundamental objective of the CICLO project is to research new technological solutions to promote the circular economy in the field of renewable energies, specifically in the recycling and valorization of wind turbine blades and other composite components used in the construction of wind turbines such as nacelles, electrical cabinets, etc. at the end of their lifecycle. In addition, research will be carried out aimed at the development of alternative materials to the current ones that are more easily recyclable: that is, recyclable polymeric matrices.

ECORES WIND

The ECORES WIND project focuses on developing an innovative circular resin for applications in wind energy, such as blades and nacelles, to reduce the environmental footprint of wind generators and promote the sustainability of the sector. INPRE COMPOSITES is involved in defining how this recyclable resin will improve the circularity of components, facilitating dismantling, disassembly, reuse, and recycling. This project, part of the Horizon Europe program, seeks to extend the lifespan of components and increase their efficiency in terms of recycling and reuse.

EMLES

INPRE’s R project, called EMLES (Light, Efficient, and Sustainable Tidal Energy), seeks to develop new sustainable materials for manufacturing composites for tidal turbine blades. These materials will replace the current ones, which have low recyclability and require poorly automated and costly manufacturing processes. EMLES focuses on researching bio-based and recyclable resins, along with natural fibers, to improve the resistance and efficiency of the blades. The project is part of SAIL2FUTURE and aims to modernize and diversify the Spanish naval sector, aligning with Europe’s decarbonization objectives.

This project has been financed through aid for actions to integrate and transform the industrial value chain of the naval sector, within the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation for the modernization and diversification of the Spanish naval ecosystem (PERTE NAVAL), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union and managed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Comprehensive circular economy solution for wind turbine components nearing decommissioning

This project will address the problem posed by the upcoming end of the useful life of numerous wind farms installed more than 20 years ago, to move closer to full sustainability of the sector. INPRE COMPOSITES will apply methodologies and technologies for inspection, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing of the nacelle shell and hub of wind turbines.

NEMMO

Applying our experience in the manufacture of large GRP parts, since 2016 we have been developing and manufacturing blades for tidal generators. We are currently participating in the Nemmo Project, financed by the EU within the H2020 framework in collaboration with eleven other companies from five countries, with the aim of improving the design and performance of these underwater generators. Our role in this Project is to investigate more resistant resins and develop the production process for innovative blades.
